Girvan is situated on the coast in the South Ayrshire region of South West Scotland, midway between the towns of Stranraer and Ayr.
We can be reached by both Road and Rail. Overseas visitors can arrive via the Ferry terminals at Troon, CairnRyan and Stanraer or from the local airports at Prestwick and Glasgow.
BY CAR
It has never been easier to get to Girvan. The M77 brings Glasgow and Central Scotland closer than ever before. If you follow the M77 then the A77 you will come upon Girvan and the wonderful scenery it has to offer.
When travelling from the South you would follow the M6 and M74 north, then the A75 west to Castle Douglas, where you have a choice of either taking the A713 north-west to Ayr the taking the A77 south to Girvan, or going further west and taking A714 which leads you to Girvan
BY RAIL
There is a frequent train service between Stranraer and Glasgow, via Girvan, Ayr and Prestwick Airport.
BY BUS
There is a frequent bus service which operates in the local area and connects the towns and villages.

BY SEA
From Ireland you can sail to any of the three most local ports, Troon, Cairnryan and Stranraer. You can then drive or travel by train.

BY AIR
The busy Prestwick airport receives flights from a number of various different countries around the world. Girvan is only a short drive, coach or train run south.
Glasgow airport also has a frequent connection with Ayrshire with regular train and coach routes.
