We are currently applying for charitable status and, in order for us to attract major funding organisations to our project, we have to show that the local community
supports the new facility and we invite you to become a Member.
All you have to do is complete a Membership Form from the Carrick Buildings, Carrick Gazette Office or Ailsa Horizons Ltd (22 Dalrymple Street) and return it to one of the places mentioned above.

Carrick Community Councils’ Forum (CCCF) has appointed Ashley Murphy as its New Media Worker in a bid to explore new ways of communication, particularly with the younger generation, throughout the area.
Ashley will be working with the Forum to improve new ways of getting their message across to the community and look at new avenues for residents to be able to share their views about the area with each other and with the Forum.
This will also allow South Ayrshire Community Planning Partnership and the CCCF to keep residents better informed about what they are doing in the community.
The social networking sites “Facebook” and “Twitter” are now being utilised as a public forum and information centre to help stimulate and improve community understanding and involvement.
Ashley, in her new role wants to encourage and enable people, particularly young people, to engage with what is happening in their communities and also with the Community Planning Partnership consultation process.
Peter Mason, chair of the Forum, is urging as many people as possible to visit the Carrick Community Councils’ Forum pages and give their ideas on what can be done to address local issues.
Ashley said, “I hope that the use of social media will attract younger people to air their views on current projects. We will work with pupils at Carrick and Girvan Academies and local youth groups to get their ideas on improving Carrick. We need their opinions and feedback and we want them to know that they are valued in the community”
The role is being funded by Carrick Futures and the Community Planning Partnership, with input from South Ayrshire Council and Ailsa Horizons. The Forum hopes the overall outcome will see community groups in Carrick communicate more effectively with Community Planning partners to deliver neighbourhood and service improvements.
